Belated April Fool Outing

I got together with my Stitch and Bitch group on April 1st to do an easter / fool's day Yarn Bomb outing but it was so wet and miserable we couldn't bring ourselves to dampen the fun we had before - and Creativity just ain't the same when under obligation so we gathered again last night - 15th April - to put out some colour and had a real laugh.

She-who-shall-be-know-as Phantomstitch had made some very eastery chicks and a bonnet and we were gutted to have not got them out over the easter holidays, but she started the proceedings by placing one at The Swan at Hay where we gather for our Stitch and Bitch and we giggled so much...

Then we headed up into town.

On the way past The Hay Cinema Bookshop I decided to decorate a beautiful Silver Birch with a demi-Madonna-bra-type-thing, um...

TAG #25

As we meandered further into town. She-who-shall-be-know-as Black Widow placed the first of her tags and it really suited the shop it was placed on,

Because one of the gang had previously found She-who-shall-be-know-as Black Widow's blue bag on the floor that had been on the tree by the library since Halloween, her daughter decided to re-bomb it here,

Then as we walked past Flow and there was a perfect little hook for me to place a colour co-ordinated flower on...

TAG #26

Then as we walked past the Honesty Bookshop, joy-of-joys we spotted an improvised anonymous bomb (ish) - well it is made of Yarn!

Now it was time for one of the cutest tags ever... She-who-shall-be-know-as Phantomstitch's little speckled hen, which was nimbly placed on top of the railings by She-who-shall-be-know-as Missknit's young daughter (both Missknit and her daughter joined us but hadn't brought their tags with them so they helped with placement)...

Another beautiful rose by She-who-shall-be-know-as Black Widow perfectly place above the door of Monica, again, nicely colour co-ordinated!

...meanwhile She-who-shall-be-know-as Phantomstitch was adorning the Red Cross shop - don't these girrrls understand that I can't be taking pictures in two places at once?....... ; )

My next one was a knob decoration on the gates to the Butter Market...

TAG #27

and while I was doing that one She-who-shall-be-know-as Phantomstitch was placing her bonnet on the opposite gates - so cute, we all giggled over this one...

The next must-do for me was Goosey Gander and I had a perfectly pink flower to match the decor and the owners ; ) Quote of the evening from She-who-shall-be-know-as Missknit whilst balancing precariously trying to put this up for me... "I'm 45 - I shouldn't be doing stuff like this at my age!"

TAG #28

Edited to add:
Ahhhh, I went to see if this had lasted and thought it was gone until I spotted it ON THE INSIDE!!! I am so chuffed they liked it enough to give it sanctuary : )

...then just around the corner to place an ideal mobile phone cosy for a teenager to snaffle...

TAG #29

opposite, on the knocker of the Hay MakersShe-who-shall-be-know-as Black Widow hung another colour- matched flower pouch - a great snaffle for someone with an iPod nano or an iPhone ; ) ...

and another lovely pouch from She-who-shall-be-know-as Black Widow,
hung from the door of The Bear , a bit blurry as the wind was playing with it...

... and while I was photographing that one she had already tagged Addyman's Bookshop (with the help of young and nimble "daughter-of-Missknit" again)

As I took those pics, behind me She-who-shall-be-know-as Phantomstitch was busy attaching a sweet little tag that looks like a small window box to a door frame next to Murder and Mayhem...

Then I spotted an opportunity to tag a small digger - we have had workmen digging up the streets of Hay for months now, leaving holes and machinery and rubbish around looking rather ugly and in need of beautifying...

TAG #30

Last but not least, She-who-shall-be-know-as Phantomstitch placed her last little chick
on a strange piece of pipe...

'Twas a shame that She-who-shall-be-know-as Missknit and She-who-shall-be-know-as Elen the Stitcher were unable to contribute this time, and She-who-shall-be-know-as Agent Crocheteur was satisfied with just hanging out with us, but a lot of fun was had by all : ) Also on the way back to the Swan we passed the railings that the speckled Hen was placed on and it had gone already... nearby some teenagers seemed to be acting as if they had some knowledge of it's demise, and She-who-shall-be-know-as Missknit pursued them for interrogation but they slipped away.

Hope the locals enjoyed their town this morning.

P.S. I went round town with my son spotting which Tags were surviving this morning and was so chuffed to see one in action (so-to-speak) *chortle* ...
